In recent years, people are getting married and having children later on in life and the rate of unmarried people is increasing. As a result, the birth rate is decreasing.If this trend continues, it will negatively affect economic growth, community life, and the transfer of responsibility between generations.

To fight this trend, we will conduct a campaign to remind people of the benefits of marriage and having children, stressing the point that children are society's greatest asset.

We will improve our kindergartens and daycare centers to support parents, and establish a system that will allow both men and women to take time off from work to care for their children and parents without the fear of losing their jobs.

In Akita Prefecture, health, medical, welfare and educational facilities work in unison to guarantee that children can grow up healthily.
