Four season in Akita |
|
Akita has an abundance of crystal clear water that flows down from the Ou and Dewa Mountain Ranges and Mt. Chokai. The prefecture is famous for its production of delicious rice, such as Akita Komachi and new breed rice, Menkoina. Its sake, made from these rice and clean water, is also eminent. The dishes that best represent Akita are Kiritanpo Stew made with Hinai chicken stock, and Shottsuru-kayaki Stew that uses sandfish. Inaniwa noodles (since 300 years ago), Tonburi and Junsai are also Akita's unique tastes that are highly appreciated in other regions. |
